I found myself missing the start as I was reaching for a last minute towel to help with the up coming sweat fest. So I had a bid of work cut out for me to catch some of the early race leaders before we started with the Alpe climb.
I managed to catch up with only one rider of the front up the climb with a few second gap, I pushed on and eventually took the lead. I got caught again as I was having a bit of a recovery to try bring the heartrate down, but managed to bring up the power again to push on to the win.
Another tough evening on the saddle, with a mini Alp TT. I think the biggest question going into this event was what bike to use.
A TT bike that would have the advantage on the first sections of the race, a climbing bike for a speedy climb or an allrounder and try smash both sections.
My final choice was a full climbing bike setup:
SPECIALIZED AETHOS S-WORKS FRAME paired with the Lightweight Meilenstein wheels the perfect setup for an Alpe du Zwift assault.
The heartrate was not playing nice again as I feel I was still recovering a bit from the Wed Vaccine and Thursdays TT effort at the Wahoo Toyota FIGHT NIGHT event that I managed to bring in some great numbers and a solid solo effort the finish.
Thanks again to all my supports and for watching my streams.
