My first race in a few weeks and I wasn’t really sure how it would go as I had just had my second and thankfully final Covid-19 Vaccine shot the day before, so I was not really sure as to how my body would react. Bike Choice: Addict RC from Scott Wheelset: DT Swiss ARC 1100 DiCut 62 Average Power: 329.2 watts Normalised Power: 343.7 watts Max Power: 882 watts

After a relatively easy start I was happy the pace was not to insane and would give me some time to settle in, but then there was an attack of the front, not knowing the riders in the field I had no idea if this was areal or not so I had to respond and keep position towards the front until the climb at which point I was getting ready to put the hurt on everyone.

My heartrate was not doing so good and was noticeable higher than normal for the effort ( yet another heartrate threshold increase alert).

The first sprint segment comes very fast and luckily on fresh legs allowing for some relatively good numbers to the arch.

After cresting the top of the KOM I decided to give it one last hard TT effort to the line and try keep the power down on the decent just in case the heavier riders started to gain some time on me on the decent.

In the I was able to keep my 30sec lead and finish with a bit of a sprint to the line.
